To hike White Mountain Peak drive up White Mountain Road (a fairly rough gravel road) to a locked gate that is 7 miles from the summit. Sleep overnight in your car in the grassed parking area (there's a pit bathroom at the car park). Allow for very cold weather overnight.

Wake up early and head to the top. You will walk past the Barcroft Research Station and Observatory after about 2 miles. If you're not used to the altitude and distance allow at least 6 or 7 hours for the round trip. The final mile to the summit is the steepest and roughest part of the jeep trail and still had snow cover in July when I hiked.
