There's a very popular hot springs area in northern Kirishima. Onsen owners have sunk wells to access the high-pressure boiling water and direct it to their huge public baths. Chemicals in the water appear to be very destructive to metal!

Our hotel had a private bath in every room, we'd just press a button and 15 minutes later our large bath would be full of health-giving hot water.
