Osaki Peninsula, Nagasaki Prefecture
We spent a couple of nights in a home-share on the Osaki Peninsula in Nagasaki Prefecture. There's a very nice trail
through the forest, some small cafes, and a "peacock" park which had some outstanding cherry trees.
- Upper left
- This was the view from our balcony. Out over Ōmura Bay (大村湾) three very tall structures are visible in the distance.
After a fair bit of searching on the internet we found out what they are and planned a visit in a couple of days.
- Upper right
- The Osaki Peninsula has an excellent walking trail all the way around. This view of Ōmura Bay greets visitors near
the outer-most part of the trail.
- Lower left
- As often happens in our travels, Lisa has befriended a goat. This goat was someone's pet and was free-roaming during
our three day visit.
- Lower right
- The Osaki Peacock Nature Park (大崎自然公園) has, well, a lot of peacocks inside a massive enclosure, but it also has a
magnificent hillside of cherry trees which were in top form in time for our visit.
